e-Learning

NHS West Midlands advocates a blended approach to learning and development using a range of delivery methods and new and emerging technologies to support learner choice and realistic and practical opportunities to make learning a sustainable, independent and evolving experience.  Technological advances present a wealth of opportunity in healthcare to enhance learning and educational environments.

Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) is a term that describes any learning done via electronic means including online learning, web-based training, DVD, and technology-delivered instruction, giving people the opportunity to learn almost anytime, anywhere.

With its unique features and flexibility TEL is an experience that leads to comprehension and discovery of new skills and knowledge, enabling education which can be immediate and self-paced. It can also be integrated with other learning methods where it can offer greater flexibility and improve knowledge retention.
